Salary: -35-40,000

A respected, well-established planning consultancy in Cambridge is looking to add a Town Planner to its team. The role offers the chance to take on real responsibility across a varied and interesting workload, working alongside experienced colleagues who will support your progression towards chartership and beyond.

• Prepare planning statements, appraisals and supporting documents for a range of projects, from straightforward schemes to larger, more complex developments
• Draft and submit planning applications and appeals, and monitor their progress through to decision
• Advise clients at every stage of the planning and development process
• Assess the planning potential of new development opportunities
• Carry out planning policy research and analysis to support project strategy
• Contribute to community engagement and consultation activities
• Attend committee meetings, public examinations, site visits and client meetings
• Help to shape fee proposals and project scopes

• A degree in Town Planning or a related subject, ideally RTPI-accredited
• Previous planning experience, whether in consultancy or the public sector
• A genuine passion for planning and a proactive, ambitious approach to your career
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• The ability to manage your own caseload and meet deadlines
• A collaborative attitude and confidence working as part of a team
• A commitment to working towards chartership, if not already chartered
