Location: East Suffolk (hybrid 1 day per week in the office)
Contract: Interim, rolling 3 month contract

The Opportunity
We are working with a forward-thinking local authority to recruit an experienced Interim Tourism Project Manager to support delivery of a high profile tourism mitigation programme linked to the Sizewell C (SZC) development.
This is a dynamic and varied role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced environment, can manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, and enjoys working across public facing initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and creative project delivery.
The Role
You will play a key role in managing and delivering projects within a substantial tourism mitigation fund, working closely with internal teams, external partners, and the wider local business community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of tourism projects and initiatives as part of an annual implementation plan
- Supporting delivery of both the Tourism Implementation Plan and Accommodation Plan
- Leading on programme promotion, communications, and stakeholder engagement
- Managing consultants and external contractors, including commissioning and contract oversight
- Building and maintaining strong partnerships with regional tourism bodies and local businesses
- Setting up and facilitating networking groups across the visitor economy
- Monitoring programme impact and supporting reporting to senior stakeholders and boards
- Managing budgets and ensuring strong governance and value for money
This is a highly visible role requiring strong communication skills, as you will be working across public facing initiatives and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including businesses, partners, and elected members.
About You
We''re looking for a proactive, creative and highly organised project professional who can "spin multiple plates" and drive delivery at pace.
You will bring:
- Proven project management experience (ideally within tourism, regeneration, or public sector programmes)
- Experience managing consultants and external suppliers
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams simultaneously
- A creative approach to problem solving and programme delivery
- Confidence working in a public-facing and politically sensitive environment
A good understanding of the tourism, culture, and place-based agenda is desirable.
Additional Requirements
- Hybrid working with approximately one day per week in the office
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car (occasional travel across the region required)
