A leading manufacturer in the Dudley area are looking for a skilled Toolmaker with experience in the press industry, specifically with Progression Tooling and exposure to EDMThe ideal candidate will be a hard-working and adaptable Engineer with a strong technical background within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Operating in a fast-paced environment, you will report to the Toolroom Manager and provide effective planned maintenance on progression tooling, amongst other responsibilitiesRole: ToolmakerLocation: DudleySalary: £40,000Shift: Days (early Friday finish)The key responsibilities of the Toolmaker role will be: Adhere to all Health and Safety procedures and company policies. Support the development of new tooling and modifications to existing tooling, working from engineering drawings and technical specifications. Fit, trial, debug, and modify tooling, carrying out press try-outs as required. Monitor tooling performance within production areas, identifying repair requirements and improvement opportunities. Strip, inspect, repair, maintain, and rebuild production tooling. Work closely with production setters to ensure tooling issues are resolved efficiently and tooling is returned to service promptly. Attend machine breakdowns, diagnose root causes, and implement effective solutions. Operate a range of hand tools and workshop machinery, including lathes, milling machines, presses, and grinders.
