Experienced ToolmakerLocation: BirminghamSalary: 17.79 per hourJob Type: Full-time, PermanentWorking pattern: Four-day working week, Monday to Thursday, 6:00am-3:45pm.The OpportunityAn established manufacturing business is looking to recruit an experienced Toolmaker to join its in-house toolroom team. This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served professional with a strong background in press tooling, maintenance, repair and modification.The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and improving tooling, ensuring equipment operates efficiently and supporting ongoing production requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesRepair, maintain and modify existing press tools.Manufacture small tools, jigs and fixtures where required.Fault-find and resolve tooling issues effectively.Work with single-action, progression and transfer tooling.Read and interpret 2D engineering drawings, including tolerances.Operate a range of toolroom machinery, including XYZ milling machines, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders and lathes.Work independently using own initiative while contributing positively to the wider team.Maintain high standards of workmanship, accuracy and safety.About YouTo be considered for this role, you will ideally have:A recognised apprenticeship in Toolmaking or a relevant engineering discipline.At least 10 years'' post-qualification experience.Previous experience working with metal pressings and press tools.Experience with single-action, progression and transfer ..... full job details .....
