Tool Designer - Detail Parts

Our client, a leading player in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Tool Designer - Detail Parts to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves the detail tool design from concept development through to the issuance for detail products and assembly of airframe-related parts.Key Responsibilities:Develop detail tool designs from concept to issuance for airframe-related partsCollaborate with multiple teams across different engineering disciplines, including design, toolroom, and process development teams, as well as external suppliersGenerate solutions for complex problems from concept through to actualisationApply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing accurately in tool designsEnsure compliance with external and internal company standards governing tooling activitiesJob Requirements:Proven experience in detail tool design processes, preferably within the air sectorProficiency in the use of CATIA V5Thorough understanding of interpreting and applying Geometric Dimensioning and TolerancingKnowledge of internal company systems such as SAPCAMS and PLM is desirableComfortable working in an early lifecycle programme environment with inherent uncertainties and volatilityIf you have a background in tooling within the defence and security sector and are looking for an exciting new opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
