Tool Design Engineer

We’re hiring for a Tool Design Engineer to take ownership of tooling design, procurement and day-to-day toolroom activity within a busy manufacturing environment based in Chapel-en-le-Frith.

What will you be doing as a Tool Design Engineer?

• Designing tooling using 2D/3D CAD (AutoCAD / similar)
• Supporting production with tooling repairs, modifications and improvements
• Managing tooling procurement, consumables and critical spares
• Prioritising workload and allocating work across the toolroom team
• Liaising with internal teams, customers and subcontractors
• Supporting new product introduction and tooling development
• Producing CAD data and programs to support machining processes
• Maintaining tooling records, drawings and ERP systems
• Supporting inspections, calibration and quality standards

What will you need?

• Strong background in tool design, toolroom, or production tooling
• Experience using CAD (AutoCAD / Inventor or similar)
• Understanding of materials, machining processes and tooling lifecycles
• Experience leading or supporting a small team
