The Role: TIG Welder
We are looking for a skilled TIG Welder to join a respected and long-established engineering manufacturing business. This is a hands-on position where you’ll play a key role in building a wide range of food processing equipment supplied to customers both in the UK and overseas.
This full-time, permanent role offers a varied workload across fabrication, welding, and occasional site work. As a TIG Welder, you will be working with stainless steel, supporting production in-house, and assisting with installation projects when required.
Main Responsibilities (TIG Welder):
• Welding and fabrication of stainless steel components (1.0mm – 12mm thick), including pipework
• Using TIG welding processes to deliver high-quality results to exacting standards
• Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
• Applying knowledge of tolerances, bend allowances, and fabrication techniques
• Operating sheet metal and fabrication machinery
• Working collaboratively in production or on customer sites
• Following company Health & Safety and quality procedures at all times
Skills/Experience (TIG Welder):
• Proven experience in TIG welding and stainless steel fabrication
• Ability to confidently read and work from engineering drawings
• Knowledge of fabrication methods, tolerances, and sheet-metal work
• Team player with a professional and proactive approach
• City & Guilds qualifications in Welding and Fabrication or an Engineering Apprenticeship would be advantageous
Salary & Working Hours (TIG Welder):
• Pay rate dependent on experience
• 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Monday: 7:30am – 1:00pm / 1:30pm – 4:00pm
- Tuesday: 7:30am – 1:00pm / 1:30pm – 4:30pm
- Wednesday & Thursday: 7:30am – 1:00pm / 1:30pm – 5:00pm
- Friday: 7:30am – 12:00 noon
• Overtime available at 1.5x hourly rate (Monday–Friday evenings & Saturday mornings)
