Thread Whirling Machinist

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Thread Whirling Machinist to join an established precision engineering business in Brighouse.

This is a hands-on role working with specialist thread whirling machinery to manufacture high-precision components to customer drawings and exacting quality standards.

The role will involve setting and operating thread whirling machinery, manufacturing internal and external threads to drawing specifications and working with thread forms including Acme, trapezoidal, square and modified-square profiles. You will be responsible for reading and interpreting engineering drawings, selecting tooling, setting cutting parameters and offsets, and making adjustments to achieve required tolerances.

You will also carry out first-off and in-process inspection, identify and resolve machining issues and work with a range of engineering materials including steel and stainless steel.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a precision engineering or machining environment, with thread whirling experience highly advantageous. Strong engineering drawing interpretation skills, experience setting machinery and confidence using precision measuring equipment are essential.

Experienced machinists with a strong understanding of threading who are looking to develop their skills in specialist thread whirling may also be considered.
