The role sits at the heart of how digital services are released and maintained — keeping things reliable, secure, and ready to scale.What You’ll Be Doing
Shaping and delivering the overall environment and release strategy across a complex technology landscape.Planning, configuring and maintaining test environments, ensuring reliability and consistency.Building dashboards to monitor environment health, performance, and software versions.Managing deployment risks, issues, and cross-platform dependencies.Implementing governance for access and security across environments.Driving the move towards greater automation and Continuous Integration (CI).Supporting QA and development teams in troubleshooting release and environment issues.Producing environment roadmaps and coordinating availability with stakeholders.Scheduling downtime with minimal disruption to ongoing testing.Main Skills Needed
Proven background in environment and release management, covering both on-premise and cloud strategies.Strong technical knowledge across Java, APIs, web services, and service virtualisation.Hands-on experience with Linux, AIX, Windows, and AWS.Skilled with databases including SQL, DB2, Oracle, and MySQL.Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, code branching, and tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Subversion.Solid understanding of IT security principles and APM tools.Comfortable working across both Agile and Waterfall delivery models.What’s in It for You
