Job Purpose
The Engineering Test Engineer is responsible for planning, developing, and executing tests to verify that products, systems, and components meet design, performance, quality, and regulatory requirements. The role supports product development, manufacturing, and continuous improvement activities through robust testing and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
-Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and validation protocols.
-Design and maintain test equipment, fixtures, and automated test systems.
-Conduct functional, performance, environmental, reliability, and endurance testing.
-Analyse test results and identify failures, trends, and root causes.
-Produce detailed test reports and communicate findings to engineering teams.
-Collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve technical issues.
-Verify compliance with customer, industry, and regulatory requirements.
-Support product qualification, verification, and certification activities.
-Assist with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and risk assessments.
-Develop and improve test methods to increase efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability.
-Ensure testing activities comply with company quality management systems and relevant standards.
-Maintain calibration and validation records for test equipment.
-Assist in managing obsolescence projects
Required Skills & Experience
Essential
-Degree or HNC/HND in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or related discipline).
-Experience in engineering testing, validation, verification, or quality assurance.
-Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.
-Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
-Experience with data acquisition and analysis tools.
-Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
Desirable
-Experience in aerospace, automotive, defence, manufacturing, or other regulated industries.
-Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar quality standards.
-Experience with automated test systems, LabVIEW, Python, or PLC-based test equipment.
-Understanding of statistical analysis and measurement system capability studies (e.g., Gauge R&R).
