Senior Test Automation EngineerRole type: ContractLength: 3 months initial Location: Birmingham (Hybrid, onsite 1-2 days) Our client is looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer to design and build a Playwright automation framework from the ground up. You''ll lead the development of scalable UI and API test solutions, embed automation into CI/CD pipelines, and help Agile teams adopt modern quality engineering practices.Key Responsibilities:Design and build a Playwright automation framework using TypeScript.Develop maintainable UI and REST API automated test suites, reusable page objects, utilities and test libraries.Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and define automation standards, coding practices and quality gates.Partner with Developers, QA Engineers, Product Owners and Delivery teams to support shift-left testing.Produce clear technical documentation and mentor colleagues in automation best practice.Essentials Skills:Strong commercial experience with Playwright and advanced TypeScript.Proven experience building test automation frameworks from scratch.Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, test architecture and automation design patterns.Experience with REST API testing, Git and CI/CD integration.Hands-on knowledge of Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or Jenkins.Experience working in Agile delivery environments.DesirablesExperience with Node.js, Docker, Azure or AWS, BDD, performance testing, security or accessibility testing, and ..... full job details .....
