Test and Validation Engineer (Electronics / Software)

This is a genuinely interesting opportunity with a specialist manufacturer whose products are used in some of the most demanding environments in engineering. Working within an RandD department and reporting to the Head of Electronics, you will be responsible for testing and validating new hardware before it reaches customers in Automotive, aerospace and high-tech industries. The role is open at both junior and experienced level. What matters most is a solid foundation in electronics or software, a methodical approach to testing, and a genuine interest in getting under the bonnet of complex hardware. What you''ll be doing: - Writing and executing structured test plans for new hardware and embedded products - Functional, electrical, pneumatic and interface testing of prototypes and pre-production units - Building automated test scripts in Python for data capture, regression testing and interface validation - Verifying Ethernet (TCP/UDP) and CAN interfaces; exposure to ModbusTCP / EtherCAT is a bonus - Analysing results in Excel and Python and producing clear validation reports - Supporting test rig setups and maintaining clear test records and release-readiness documentation Skills needed: - Electronics fundamentals (analogue/digital, embedded hardware) - Python scripting for automation and device communication - Understanding of TCP/UDP and CAN protocols - Test equipment: oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analysers - Strong Excel and data handling capability Skills desired: - ..... full job details .....
