TES Research Technician

for a Fall Semester 2025 Research Study. Primary responsibilities will include conducting animal and arthropod handling and monitoring. Other duties will include data entry, arthropod maintenance, study setup preparations, and some laboratory work (e.g. blood sample processing, performing diagnostic tests). No previous experience is necessary. Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Four-hour blocks of time or longer are best.

Temporary Employment Services ( TES ), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of timeAdditional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloadsAssistance with special projectsSeasonal work

Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.Ability to follow study protocol and procedures.Display high motivation and have experience handling animals.A positive attitude, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are desired.Some weekend and evening hours are required (these are few and dates/times will be made available well in advance).Desired Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a Biological Science field (pre-vet, animal science, or similar) or at least one year of laboratory experience including experience with animal and/or arthropod handling.
