Temporary Teacher of Learning Support

Temporary Teacher of Learning Support Full or part-time hours will be considered This role will include peripatetic teaching and/ or EAL support. Responsible to: The Head of Learning Support The Vice Principal in charge of Teaching and Learning Essential Criteria 1. An Honours degree at 2.2 level or above in support of the post. 2. A primary or a secondary level teaching qualification recognised by the Department of Education. 3. Ability to teach Literacy and/ or Numeracy to Key Stage 3. 4. Teaching experience at Key Stage 2 and/or Key Stage 3 level. 5. Experience of teaching students with literacy/numeracy difficulties in small groups and on a one-to-one basis. Desirable Criteria 1. An Honours degree in English or Maths at 2:2 Level or above. 2. A third level qualification in Special Educational Needs. 3. Qualified and/or experience of using reading and/or other support programmes to help students with additional educational needs i.e. Phonics Reading/Read Write Gold/Toe by Toe/ASD Social Stories. 4. Experience of teaching students with a range of SEN difficulties. The Board of Governors reserves the right to amend or adjust this post to reflect the changing needs of the college but will do so in consultation with the leadership post holder.
