Temporary Teacher of Business Communication Systems and ICT to Key Stage 4 at Education Authority (Northern Ireland).Responsibilities
Plan and prepare courses and lessons; teach pupils according to their educational needs; set and mark work.Assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of pupils.Promote the general progress and well-being of pupils; provide advice and guidance on educational matters and future progression; maintain appropriate records and reports.Communicate with parents and collaborate with colleagues and outside bodies as required.Participate in meetings and administrative tasks related to curriculum, organisation and pastoral arrangements.Contribute to arrangements for public examinations and related assessments; support pupils during examination periods.Support the selection, induction and professional development of staff, and assist in curriculum development and teaching material creation.Provide cover and supervision as required in accordance with school policies; observe regulations on working hours and breaks.Adhere to the Education Authority’s policies and promote good relations and equality of opportunity in line with the Northern Ireland Act (1998).Essential Criteria (Section 1 and 2)
Qualified to teach and hold a degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification relevant to Business and/or Business Communication Systems and/or ICT as the main subject; be eligible to teach in grant-aided schools in Northern Ireland.Demonstrable teaching experience in Business and/or Business Communication Systems and/or ICT at Key Stage 4 with positive learning outcomes; knowledge of a range of teaching strategies to meet pupils’ needs.Registered with the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (GTCNI) before taking up the post; be subject to pre-employment checks.Knowledge of the Northern Ireland Curriculum and effective classroom management skills; ability to inspire and raise achievement.Demonstrate alignment with the school’s values/ethos.Desirable Criteria
Experience teaching Level 2 ICT qualifications (e.g., BTEC First Award, OCNNI) and willingness to contribute to extracurricular life.Requirements and Compliance
