Temporary Senior Grants and Finance Officer

Do you have a strong knowledge of Excel, including VLOOKUPS and pivot tables?
We have registered a great opportunity with one of our prestigious higher education clients based in Oxford! The role is in a busy department, where you will be providing support to the research team. As a senior staff member, you will also be manipulating data and dealing with technical formulas, as well as investigating and resolving problems as they arise.
The role starts in immediately and will be ongoing until a permanant team member is found. It is a full-time post, 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday, starting at 0830.
Please note, this is a temporary position paid on a weekly PAYE basis. This role will start immediately, so sadly candidates with a lengthy notice period cannot be considered.
Temporary Senior Grants and Projects Officer Responsibilities
- Supporting the financial management of a portfolio of research/trading projects
- Advising on the financial and administrational regulations that govern awards
- Ensuring payroll instructions are updated
- Coordinating the production of quarterly financial reports and forecast
- Invoicing and auditing for projects within a specified portfolio
- Resolving problems and investigating anomalies effectively
- Interacting confidently and diplomatically with senior colleagues

Temporary Senior Grants and Projects Officer Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Excel, including VLOOKUPS and pivot tables
- Ability to create technical formulas and manipulate data
- Experience of using Oracle (desirable)
- Administration experience in a research environment – public sector or other large complex organisation
- Proven financial aptitude – Full or part AAT or equivalent (desirable)
- High level of attention to detail
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Motivated to make a real impact in the team
Location
Our client is located in Central Oxford (OX1). Unfortunately, there is no access to onsite parking but there are many public transport links.
