Temporary Accounts Assistant

Sewell Wallis are currently recruiting for a temporary Accounts Assistant to join a well-established business based in Huddersfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous finance experience who is looking to develop their skills and gain further exposure within a busy finance team. The successful candidate will be organised, detail-oriented and eager to contribute to the smooth running of the day-to-day finance function. What you''ll be doing? Processing purchase and sales invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely entry into the accounting system. Assisting with bank reconciliations and allocating incoming payments. Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice queries. Supporting the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Assisting with month-end procedures and the preparation of financial reports. Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring finance systems are kept up to date. Providing general support to the wider finance team as required. What skills are we looking for? Previous experience in an accounts or finance administration role. A good understanding of basic accounting principles. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, with experience using accounting software. Excellent organisational and time-management skills. A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
