Temporary Accommodation Visiting Officer

We are looking for a Temporary Accommodation Visiting Officer to join our Housing team. The role involves visiting temporary accommodation properties to ensure they are occupied by the correct tenants and that tenancies are being managed in line with council policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular visits to temporary accommodation properties.
• Carry out occupancy checks to confirm authorised occupants are living in the property.
• Complete tenancy audits and property inspections.
• Identify and investigate suspected tenancy breaches such as subletting or non-occupation.
• Ensure properties are being maintained in good condition and report any repairs or health and safety concerns.
• Liaise with tenants, landlords, managing agents, and internal departments.
• Maintain accurate records and complete visit reports.
• Support the prevention of housing fraud within temporary accommodation.

Requirements

• Experience working in housing, preferably in temporary accommodation or tenancy management.
• Experience carrying out property inspections, tenancy audits, or occupancy checks.
• Knowledge of homelessness and housing legislation (desirable).
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
• Basic IT skills and experience using housing management systems.
• Full UK driving licence-and Access to your own vehicle (Essential)
