Your new companyHays are working with a reputable public-sector organisation in Sheffield to recruit a temporary Category Manager to support the team through a busy period. The role requires just 1 day per week in the office (Wednesdays), so you''ll get a great work-life balance.Your new roleThe Category Manager will support the wider Procurement team with sourcing activities, which will entail:Leading end-to-end procurement activity across assigned categories in line with public sector regulations (Procurement Act 2023)Delivering competitive call-offs from frameworks and manage open market tender exercisesEngage and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand and shape requirementsWork collaboratively with suppliers, ensuring value for money and compliancePrepare tender documentation, evaluate bids, and support contract award processesWhat you''ll need to succeedPrevious experience within public-sector procurement and awareness of PA23Strong knowledge of different routes to market, including the use of frameworksConfident stakeholder and supplier management skillsAble to deliver compliant and efficient procurements at paceAvailability to commute to Sheffield 1 day per week (Wednesdays) - please note this role is not accessible by public transport, so ideally you will have your own mode of transport What you''ll get in returnA 5-month temporary contract working within a strategic and well-established procurement teamHybrid and flexible working - just ..... full job details .....
