Telecommunications Service Technician

We deliver quality workmanship on every project, honor our commitments, and do what is right for our employees and our customers.We currently have Telecommunications Service Technician opportunities in the New Hampshire and Massachusetts areas.The Telecommunications Service Technician position will report to the Service Manager but will work with other Technicians and the Service Coordinator on a regular basis. The Service Technician must have a strong work ethic and a flexible attitude to be successful in this role, in addition, they must have an acute ability to solve problems effectively, on-site, with little supervision. Our Telecommunications Service Technicians are troubleshooters, problem-solvers, and customer relations specialists, in addition to being proficient cable technicians.Responsibilities

Category rated copper solution installationCompleting daily service orders and work orders accuratelyCommunicating with customers directlyFiber Optic structured cable distribution system installationPulling cable, fire stopping, dressing cables and labeling to industry standardsTerminating, assembling and installing 8-pin modular connectors and coaxial connectors and optical fiber connectorsAccurately testing copper and fiber cables to required certification parameters utilizing appropriate test equipmentDiagnosing and correcting copper and optical fiber problemsReading blueprints to determine closet and equipment layoutsInstalling closet hardware including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels and fiber enclosuresAttending training and safety meetings, and working safely at all times utilizing the necessary Personal Protection EquipmentMay lead small install team at times (1-2 technicians)Cabling done right – our people make the difference!MTS Services hires great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because it makes our company stronger.
