Telecommunications Enigneer

GMP Recruitment are proud to be working with a leading Telecommunications service provider based in Southport. We are recruiting on their behalf for a highly experienced and self-sufficient Telecommunications Engineer to support a high-profile data landing site. The successful candidate will be joining their team on a rolling contract basis. This is not a junior or entry-level IT role candidates must demonstrate a strong background in data centre environments and hands-on telecoms infrastructure, including optical networking and vendor-specific equipment. This is an ongoing contractor role, paid weekly at £200 per day, working outside of IR35. Telecommunications Engineer Main Responsibilities: Installation and deinstallation of hardware (rack and stack) in live data centre environments Fibre optic patching, cabling, and testing (single mode/multi-mode) Working independently on customer sites with minimal supervision Accurate labelling and documentation of cabling and hardware Fault finding, diagnostics, and use of test equipment for infrastructure issues Escorting third-party contractors and clients on-site Supporting day-to-day site maintenance and upgrades Travel to additional UK-based data centre locations as required Telecommunications Engineer required skills and experience: Extensive hands-on experience in data centre (DC) environments Proficient in fibre optic cabling, patching, splicing, and use of test equipment Previous work at telecom landing stations or with ..... full job details .....
