Are you technically minded with experience in a field-based, installation, maintenance, or technician role? Do you enjoy helping people and want a career where your work makes a genuine difference every day?

We are recruiting for a Telecare & Telehealth Assessor to support vulnerable adults across Wolverhampton by installing and maintaining specialist personal alarm equipment in their homes. This technology helps people remain safe, independent, and confident in their own homes while providing reassurance to families and carers.

Using a Council vehicle, you will travel throughout Wolverhampton, visiting customers in their homes to assess their needs, install equipment, provide demonstrations, and ensure systems are working effectively.

About the Role

This is a rewarding, community-focused position where no two days are the same. You''ll be responsible for fitting and maintaining telecare equipment designed to support people living independently.

Examples of the equipment include personal alarm systems, where a customer wears a pendant that can be activated in an emergency, such as after a fall, triggering an alert and enabling help to be arranged quickly.

Full training will be provided, so previous telecare experience isn''t essential. However, you will need a strong technical aptitude, excellent customer service skills, and the confidence to work independently in customers'' homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visit customers in their homes across Wolverhampton to carry out assessments and equipment installations.
  • Install, maintain, service, and troubleshoot telecare and telehealth equipment.
  • Demonstrate equipment usage to customers, families, and carers.
  • Respond to equipment faults and carry out repairs or replacements where required.
  • Conduct regular reviews to ensure equipment continues to meet customers'' needs.
  • Maintain accurate records using iPads, laptops, and service management systems.
  • Work closely with customers, carers, health professionals, and partner agencies.
  • Support the recycling, collection, cleaning, and refurbishment of returned equipment.
  • Promote the benefits of assistive technology and independent living solutions.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety, data protection, and service standards.

About You

We''re looking for someone who:

  • Holds a full UK driving licence.
  • Is comfortable driving a Council vehicle across Wolverhampton.
  • Has experience in a technical or field-based role such as Field Technician, Installation Engineer, Service Technician, Telecoms Engineer, IT Support Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar.
  • Has a practical and solutions-focused approach.
  • Is confident using technology including iPads, laptops, and digital systems.
  • Possesses excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Can work independently and manage their own workload.
  • Enjoys helping people and making a positive impact within the community.

What''s on Offer?

  • -15.56 per hour.
  • Full training provided.
  • Monday to Friday working pattern with no weekend working.
  • Use of a Council vehicle during working hours.
  • Opportunity to make a genuine difference to vulnerable adults across Wolverhampton.
  • Varied and rewarding field-based work with a strong focus on customer outcomes.

If you''re technically minded, enjoy working in the community, and are looking for a role where you can combine practical skills with helping others, we''d love to hear from you. Apply today to find out more
