Technical Trade Surveillance Implementation Lead

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Trade Surveillance Technology Delivery Manager to lead the implementation and delivery of a strategic Trade Surveillance platform within a global investment banking environment.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical delivery expertise with deep knowledge of trade surveillance, trading data, compliance technology, and financial markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Technology Delivery Leadership
• Lead end-to-end delivery of the Trade Surveillance technology programme.
• Define project objectives, delivery milestones, KPIs, governance, and business outcomes.
• Manage budgets, resources, timelines, risks, dependencies, and vendor relationships.
• Coordinate cross-functional technology teams including developers, architects, data engineers, testers, infrastructure teams, and business SMEs.
• Drive project governance and executive stakeholder reporting.
• Ensure successful delivery across multiple workstreams and jurisdictions.
• Trade Surveillance Platform Implementation
• Lead implementation, migration, upgrade, or replacement of Trade Surveillance platforms.
• Partner with Compliance, Surveillance, Risk and Front Office stakeholders.
• Define implementation roadmaps and operating models.
• Oversee platform configuration, integration testing, UAT, and production deployment.
• Support surveillance scenario design, data onboarding, and alert management processes.
• Trading Data & Integration
• Work closely with trading technology teams to understand trade flows and trading data architecture.
• Manage integration of surveillance platforms with:
  • OMS platforms
  • EMS platforms
  • Trading platforms
  • Market data systems
  • Reference data platforms
  • Data Lakes
  • Databricks environments
• Ensure high-quality ingestion and reconciliation of surveillance data feeds.
• Support data lineage, governance and regulatory controls.
• Business Analysis & Solution Design
• Gather and validate business, compliance and technical requirements.
• Facilitate workshops with Front Office, Compliance and Technology stakeholders.
• Produce and review:

  • Solution documentation
• Support target-state architecture design and technical solution validation.
• Data & Architecture Governance
• Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to ensure scalable and supportable solutions.
• Review and challenge solution designs and integration approaches.
• Support governance around:
  • Data quality
  • Data controls
  • Security
  • Auditability
  • Regulatory compliance
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
• Change Management & Service Transition
• Support business readiness and user adoption activities.
• Coordinate training and knowledge transfer.
• Drive production readiness assessments.
• Manage transition to BAU support and service ownership.
• Ensure operational procedures and support models are established prior to go-live.

Required Experience

• Trade Surveillance & Compliance Technology
• Proven experience implementing, upgrading, migrating, or replacing Trade Surveillance platforms within an Investment Banking environment.
• Strong understanding of trade surveillance and market abuse monitoring frameworks.
• Experience working with surveillance vendors such as:
  • NICE Actimize
  • Nasdaq SMARTS
  • SteelEye
  • TradingHub
  • Bloomberg Surveillance
• Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance technology environments.

Trading & Markets

• Deep understanding of:
  • Trade lifecycle

• Experience across multiple asset classes including:
  • Fixed Income
  • Equities
  • FX
  • Derivatives
  • Commodities
• Strong knowledge of trading data and its movement across Front Office systems.

• Experience delivering large-scale data and analytics initiatives.

• Experience integrating complex data sources into surveillance or compliance platforms.
