Technical Support Officer - Housing Services Employer: Hackney Council Service: Building Maintenance and Estate Environment (Responsive Repairs) PAY: 172.37 A Day PAYE / 232.28 Start: ASAP Location: Hackney E8 About the RoleThe London Borough of Hackney is seeking a proactive, resident-focused Technical Support Officer to join our responsive repairs team. In this role, you will help maintain a portfolio of approximately 5,000 social housing units, including estate environs and leaseholder liabilities. You will play a crucial part in investigating defects, specifying remedial works, overseeing contractor progress, and ensuring high-quality, compliant repair outcomes for our residents. Key ResponsibilitiesSurveys and Inspections: Conduct property inspections to identify technical defects (such as dampness), specify repair works, produce accurate estimates, and plan maintenance programmes.Contractor and Project Oversight: Monitor work carried out by contractors and the Direct Labour Organisation (DLO), performing post-inspections to ensure quality, health and safety compliance, and minimal disruption to residents.Resident and Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a clear, empathetic point of contact for residents.
