We’re looking for an OT Infrastructure Engineer to join our OT Security value stream and support the secure delivery and continuous evolution of Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure across SSE Thermal’s generation and storage assets. This role is vital to ensuring resilient, compliant, and scalable infrastructure in hybrid IT/OT environments, with a strong focus on OT Security capabilities. You’ll bring technical curiosity, problem-solving mindset, and experience in infrastructure support within critical or industrial systems.You Will

As an OT Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll support delivery, operations, and continuous improvement across a diverse OT Security estate.Responsibilities

Deploy, configure, and support OT infrastructure solutions across generating sites, with a focus on availability, security, and scalability in line with Network Information Systems (NIS) compliance.Support the rollout and enhancement of OT Security tooling, including Microsoft Defender for IoT and Sentinel.Drive automation and DevSecOps practices, contributing to CI/CD pipelines and increasing user adoption across teams.Maintain and improve technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge articles.Follow and evolve operational processes covering incident resolution, vulnerability management, and service continuity.You Have

Hands-on experience supporting OT or hybrid infrastructure (e.g. Hyper-V, switches, firewalls, storage systems, industrial security tools).Familiarity with both IT and OT security principles, including risk mitigation and NIS regulation alignment.Solid networking knowledge, including OSI model understanding and experience resolving mid-to-complex network issues.Comfortable with scripting (e.g. PowerShell, Bash), Linux system administration (ideally RHEL), and cloud security tools (Azure or AWS).Experience working in Agile delivery environments using tooling such as Azure DevOps; strong communicator across technical and non-technical teams.About SSE
