Technical Specialist

We’re excited to be partnering with an established organisation to recruit an experienced Technical Specialist to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine your hands-on expertise with Study Director responsibilities, playing a key role in the delivery of high-quality PK studies. You’ll work across a range of species, influence new processes and services, and collaborate with both clients and colleagues to deliver impactful scientific outcomes.

What you'll be doing

• Conduct ASPA-licensed procedures, including dosing and blood sampling, across a range of species.
• Lead PK studies as Study Director, taking ownership from study set-up through to delivery and reporting.
• Plan and deliver experimental work to high scientific standards and agreed timelines.
• Prepare and formulate test materials for studies.
• Write study plans, reports and other key study documentation.
• Analyse and interpret data, turning results into clear scientific updates and conclusions.
• Drive process improvements and develop new services within your area of expertise.
• Support and build strong client relationships, providing scientific input and expertise.
• Represent the department externally through publications, posters and expert groups.
• Take ownership of equipment, software and laboratory facilities within the team.
• Contribute to a strong culture of quality by maintaining SOPs and addressing audit and inspection findings.
• Work to the highest standards of safety, GLP/GCP/GMP and company procedures.
• Keep training records and study documentation up to date, while maintaining confidentiality and accurate time recording.

What you'll need

• A current Home Office Personal Licence (PIL).
• Proven experience as a Study Director for PK studies within a GLP environment.
• Experience of formulating test materials.
• Strong practical experience and confidence in performing a range of ASPA-licensed procedures, including dose administration and blood sampling.
• A flexible approach, with the ability to adapt working patterns to meet study requirements, including occasional early starts, longer days and weekend working.
