Technical Services Manager

Freelance Technical Services Manager – London – 12 Month Contract – £(DOE) per day

We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Technical Services Manager to support the delivery of high profile commercial fit out projects in London.

This contract role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile developments, ensuring the successful coordination and technical delivery of complex mechanical, electrical, and public health systems.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping office fit out schemes, working closely with clients, consultants, and project teams to ensure M&E services are designed, coordinated, and delivered to the highest standard.

As the Technical Services Manager, you will act as the project’s technical lead, overseeing design management, compliance, and commissioning while collaborating with consultants, subcontractors, and client representatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery of MEP services from design through to commissioning and handover
• Review and coordinate design information across disciplines and subcontractors
• Ensure compliance with UK building regulations, client standards, and industry codes
• Manage quality assurance, installation checks, and commissioning processes
• Provide technical guidance and resolve on-site issues to support project delivery
• Produce and review technical documentation, drawings, and O&M manuals
• Drive value engineering opportunities and ensure technical risks are managed effectively
• Act as the central point of contact for technical queries between stakeholders

Desired Skills & Experience

• Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
• Proven track record as a Technical Services Manager or similar role on large MEP projects
• Experience working with Tier 1 contractors, developers, or consultancies
• Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, industry standards, and commissioning practices
• Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Flexible, proactive approach suited to freelance/contract project delivery
