Technical Services Coordinator

  • Location: SE1 London
  • Job Type: Temporary 1 month rolling contract
  • Salary: PAYE -17.03 per hour, Umbrella -21.54 per hour

Role Purpose:

Join a Facilities team as a Technical Services Coordinator, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the technical, fabric, and portering aspects of our corporate estate. This position involves providing efficient and effective support services, ensuring the general upkeep, appearance, and compliance of properties are maintained to high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake minor repairs and maintenance to the building fabric and fixtures.
  • Perform basic planned preventative maintenance tasks, including proactive and reactive work.
  • Conduct compliance PPMS such as PAT testing and water testing.
  • Regularly inspect buildings to ensure standards and compliance are met.
  • Carry out basic technical repairs and follow a proactive schedule of painting and decoration to maintain presentation standards.
  • Manage landscaping tasks to uphold external building presentation.
  • Escalate out-of-scope works and manage service/reactive requests raised through the helpdesk within agreed SLAs.
  • Support the management and resolution of compliance activities, including fire risk assessment works.
  • Act as the building fire marshal and first aider on site.
  • Provide cover for the operations team as needed and assist with moves, changes, portering, room setups, and other facilities management activities.

Success Metrics:

  • Meet compliance, helpdesk, and PPM KPIs.
  • Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction and personal objectives.
  • Maintain properties in good operational and decorative order.

About You:

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal, and proficient in active listening.
  • Ability to interpret information, problem-solve, and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative, with strong influencing skills and good technological awareness, including proficiency in all standard MS Office applications.
  • Experience in a similar role within a facilities management environment, supporting a property portfolio.
  • Solid understanding of maintenance, handyman tasks, and health and safety legislation.
  • Full driving license required as the role involves driving a company van.
  • Desirable: IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent, and statutory building compliance courses (e.g., C&G Legionella Awareness training).
