Walker Workforce Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a well-established UK precision engineering manufacturer that is continuing to invest in its people, technology and future growth. Due to continued expansion and an increasing order book, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis.
This position is ideally suited to a commercially focused engineering professional with experience selling precision engineered or machined components into sectors where quality, accuracy and technical capability are paramount.
Working within a supportive and collaborative environment, you will act as the key point of contact for customers, managing technical enquiries, developing new business opportunities and maintaining long-term client relationships. You will work closely with engineering, production and estimating teams to ensure customer requirements are fully understood and delivered to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage new and existing customer accounts.

Identify and secure new business opportunities within target sectors.

Build long-term relationships with customers through a consultative approach.

Review customer enquiries, specifications and engineering drawings.

Prepare and coordinate quotations with internal estimating teams.

Provide technical guidance and commercial support throughout the sales process.

Liaise with manufacturing and engineering departments to ensure projects are delivered in line with customer expectations.

Maintain regular customer contact and identify opportunities for repeat business and account growth.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants should be able to demonstrate previous experience in a Technical Sales Engineer, Sales Engineer, Business Development or Engineering Account Management position within precision engineering or advanced manufacturing.
The successful candidate will have:

A strong technical understanding of precision engineering and CNC machining.

Experience selling precision machined components or engineering services.

The ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Experience working with close tolerance manufacturing.
-
Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
-
A professional, consultative approach to customer engagement.
-
Good commercial awareness with the ability to identify and develop business opportunities.
-
A full UK driving licence.
Experience supplying into industries such as aerospace, automotive, defence, offshore energy, medical, motorsport or other highly regulated manufacturing sectors would be advantageous.
