In this role as Category Technical Manager, you’ll be a key member of the Food for Now (FFN) Leadership Team, taking ownership of the technical and quality agenda across the category. Playing a pivotal role in driving technical excellence, safeguarding product quality, and leading innovation across our diverse portfolio – including Urban Eat, Leaf and Loaf, West Cornwall Pasty Co., Real Wrap/Radar Rd, and associated depots.Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of Technical Account Managers and specialists.Ensure successful delivery of New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) projects.Provide technical support to our Aylesbury manufacturing facility, driving continuous improvement and alignment to FTG standards.Own and manage the technical gate process, ensuring safe and consistent product launches.Lead food safety risk management and incident responses across the category.Deliver KPI reporting, quality improvement initiatives, and support wider FTG technical strategy.The Ideal Candidate

As a valued member of our team, you will bring the following skills and experience:A degree (or equivalent) in a food science or related discipline.Significant experience (5+ years) in technical/quality management within chilled food manufacturing.Strong knowledge of food safety, retailer standards, and BRC requirements.HACCP Level 4 and Food Safety Level 4 qualifications.Experience of leading teams, coaching and mentoring.Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.We also want you to thrive in an engaging and inclusive work culture where you will have the opportunity to take on personal accountability and take pride in your work.
