About the RoleA leading national FM provider is seeking a Technical Manager (Electrical) to join their team in Manchester. This role is vital in ensuring asset compliance with statutory and company procedures while driving a proactive maintenance strategy that extends the lifecycle of electrical assets and reduces costs.
You will take ownership of the technical performance for electrical systems, provide guidance across Mechanical and Electrical disciplines, and ensure third-party contractors deliver services to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities
Lead on all electrical-related issues, while supporting other technical disciplines where required
Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring compliance with statutory, NHS, and company standards
Act as Authorised Person (AP) for HV/LV electrical systems (training and support provided if required)
Investigate and manage claims of defect or asset failure
Deliver technical surveys, reports, and lifecycle replacement plans
Ensure third-party contractors deliver to agreed standards and KPIs
Support operational leads to continually improve service delivery
Contribute to contract financial performance through operational efficiency and procurement
Maintain and review compliance documentation including OandM manuals and record drawings
Provide technical advice and support to colleagues and stakeholders
Represent the provider at NHS safety and technical groups

Essential Requirements
Qualified to HNC/HND level in an engineering discipline
Strong technical background with an electrical bias
Held or willing to obtain AP appointments for HV/LV electrical systems
Experience in a technical management role (minimum 3-5 years)
Stakeholder management and engagement skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
Health and Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH Managing Safely)
Solid understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, and Building Services systems
Strong reporting and presentation skills
Desirable
Previous experience in a healthcare environment
Familiarity with PFI contracts
Previous FM experience, ideally in hospitals or critical facilities
