We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Fitter based in Bedford for one of our clients on a long term temporary basis.
Summary of the Technical Fitter role
Salary: £14 - £16 per hour
Location: Bedford
Type of Contract: Ongoing Temporary
Hours: 40 hours Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm
Responsibilities of the Technical Fitter
- Measuring, cutting, and assembling metal components into high-quality subassemblies and final units.
- Carrying out drilling, grinding, and finishing work to ensure precise fits.
- Inspecting completed assemblies to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
- Using fasteners and fixings (bolts, rivets, screws) to secure and align components.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings to plan and carry out fitting tasks.
Requirements for a successful Technical Fitter
- Proven experience in fitting, fabrication, or mechanical assembly.
- Ability to read and work from technical/engineering drawings.
- Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
- Practical, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks.
- Health & Safety conscious with good organisational skills.
