Responsibilities include:
- Support the Engineering Group with general administration and operational tasks.
- Assist with engineering part database management, such as creating new parts and uploading documents.
- Assist with compiling necessary documentation and document control to support prototype product development, such as Bills of Materials, Product Family Trees, etc.
- Assisting with booking of facilities to support meetings amongst the team and external suppliers/customers.
- Ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements, such as RoHS, Conflict Minerals, Country of Origin, etc.
- Liaising with suppliers to arrange quotations and request delivery updates for prototype/small builds.
- Liaising with other departments to arrange prototype builds, re-work of material and inspections.
- Liaising with other departments to book material out of stores or arrange for dispatch.
- Support collation and creation of engineering project documents in accordance the company New Product Introduction procedures.
- Create, amend and manage Engineering Change Requests, Engineering Change Orders, Engineering Concessions and Production Permits.
- Contribute to office maintenance and housekeeping.
- Use basic features of CAD software to provide administrative design support, such as the creation of component footprints, simple drawings.
- Be comfortable handling technical documentation such as technical datasheets, material safety datasheets, regulatory compliance information and customs documentation.
- Assist in drafting and proof-reading documents, such as work instructions, procedures and technical reports.
- Help facilitate meetings, including the recording of meeting minutes and actions, where appropriate.
- Perform any other reasonable tasks as business needs dictate.
Requirements
- Positive, friendly, can-do attitude.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an attention to detail.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within an administrative role.
- Experience of working in an engineering environment or an industry with specific procedural demands.
- Experience of working with technical or otherwise complex documentation.
- Experience of working with databases, product management or productivity management systems.
- Advanced skill in MS Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- Willingness to undergo further Training and Development (if required).
- Comfortable handling technical information.
- Ability to achieve UK security clearance.
Desirable
- HND or degree in relevant area (or equivalent qualification)
