Technical Development Manager/ Bakery

Are you a bakery specialist with a passion for product innovation and client collaboration? We’re recruiting for a Bakery Development Manager to join a leading ingredients business, driving new product development and technical support across a diverse UK customer base.

 What You’ll Be Doing:

• Leading bakery-focused NPD projects from concept to launch, tailored to client briefs across breads, cakes, pastries, and sweet goods

• Providing technical expertise on ingredient functionality, process optimisation, and application trials

• Building strong relationships with manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice clients, acting as a trusted development partner

• Conducting site visits to troubleshoot, present new concepts, and support scale-up activity

• Collaborating with internal teams (R&D, sales, marketing) to align innovation with commercial strategy

• Staying ahead of market trends, consumer insights, and regulatory developments in bakery and ingredients

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in bakery product development, ideally within an ingredients or manufacturing environment

• Strong understanding of ingredient functionality, formulation, and bakery processes

• Excellent communication and client-facing skills

• Comfortable with UK-wide travel and managing a varied schedule

• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for innovation

 Location & Flexibility:

This is a home-based role with regular travel to client sites across the UK. Flexibility and autonomy are key.
