Technical Buyer

The Technical Buyer will play a key role in establishing and developing the procurement function as the company transitions from prototype development into low-volume production. Working closely with engineering and senior leadership, you will take ownership of sourcing strategy, supplier selection and commercial negotiations, building a high-performing supply network capable of supporting future growth. The Technical Buyer will be responsible for: Leading the end-to-end procurement process, from supplier identification through to contract award. Working closely with engineering teams to understand technical requirements and source suitable suppliers. Reviewing engineering drawings and technical specifications to support supplier selection and sourcing decisions. Negotiating commercial agreements covering pricing, quality, warranties, indemnities and long-term supply arrangements. Developing and managing supplier relationships to achieve quality, cost and delivery objectives. Conducting supplier assessments, audits and regular UK and international supplier visits. The Technical Buyer will have: Experience in technical or direct procurement within automotive, aerospace, advanced engineering or a similar manufacturing environment. The ability to interpret engineering drawings and confidently discuss technical requirements with engineers and suppliers. Proven experience negotiating commercial agreements and supplier contracts.
