We are looking for Lead Technical Architects experienced in application design, who are confident working on products and services in a complex digital environment. Design, implement and oversee the architecture of IT solutions that improve services for millions of DWP users.Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders across DWP Digital to support the delivery of solutions, creating options and recommendations for governance boards and providing expert advice to inform major technology choices.Lead the design, oversight and architecture governance of IT solutions that support DWP customers and help colleagues be at their most effective.Work with engineers and other experts in multi-disciplinary teams to create efficient solution designs that meet user needs.Ensure technical quality and alignment of product designs with DWP’s Digital Blueprint, Enterprise Architecture and Product Roadmaps.Skills, knowledge and experience

Architecture design across on-prem, cloud and hybrid environments involving networking, security, presentation, middleware, database, and integration aspects.Architecture design informed by principles, patterns, technical radars, practices and standards.Experience designing architecture within agile, waterfall and hybrid delivery lifecycles from concept to go-live.Translating business requirements into technical solutions with traceability demonstrable to stakeholders.Architecture modelling techniques and tools to devise and represent designs.Microservice and API-led architecture and integration design best practices.Event-based architecture design and patterns (pub-sub, data streaming) across multiple domains in private data centres and public clouds.Details and benefits

Location: Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield (hybrid model).Pay: up to £99,836, comprising salary and Government Digital and Data allowance.Pension: employer contributions worth 28.97% (over £21,735 per year).Holidays: 26 days rising to 31 days with service, plus up to 3 extra flexi days per month and public holidays.Benefits include flexible working, time off volunteering, career development, coaching, mentoring, and more.Process
