Technical and Investment Director - Highways

The Technical and Investment Director is accountable to the Chief Executive for the technical performance, asset management strategy and asset investment decisions. The role covers all technical performance aspects relating to works including lifecycle investment, funded improvements and third party projects. For lifecycle aspects under direct control the role ensures the effective planning, delivery, and optimisation of lifecycle investment, asset performance, and technical governance to meet contractual, financial, and handback requirements.Responsibilities:Leadership and Team ManagementManaging a team of 6 people Providing technical leadership and driving asset strategies to meet short term and longer term objectives, including handbackLead technical engagement with key stakeholders Work collaboratively with other teams who influence asset investment and deliveryTechnical Oversight and Engineering GovernanceProvide technical oversight and input into key decisions.Ensure designs meet lifecycle requirements and whole-life cost principles.
