Pay Rate: £13.26 per hour
Start Date: Monday, 22 September 2025
End Date: Friday, 19 December 2025
Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:00
Role Purpose
To provide technical administration support across frontline functions within Highways & Neighbourhood Services. The role involves delivering excellent customer service, maintaining accurate records, processing financial transactions, and supporting operational teams.
Key Responsibilities- Provide first-point contact for customer enquiries (phone, email, face to face).
- Manage and monitor highways & street lighting email accounts.
- Maintain accurate records using the CONFIRM system.
- Produce and interrogate reports for management.
- Provide administrative support including word processing, spreadsheets, filing, and archiving.
- Process invoices, financial transactions, and rechargeable accounts.
- Co-ordinate office supplies, notice information, and postal systems.
- Handle incoming cash/cheque payments (approx. £2,000 per week).
- Produce and manipulate data for reporting and research.
- Experience of dealing with the public via telephone and in writing.
- Previous administration experience in an office environment.
- Strong customer service and diplomacy skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, databases, spreadsheets).
- Experience with financial management systems and preferably the CONFIRM system.
- Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- Knowledge of Data Protection Act requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with computerised financial systems.
- Reporting and data analysis skills.
- Ability to identify and improve office processes.
- Office and depot based, with frequent contact with the public, councillors, and external organisations.
- Regular interruptions and handling of complaints.
- Requires flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
