Team Manager - Children with Disabilities

Halton Borough Council is looking for an inspirational Team Manager to join our Children''s Services and lead our Children with Disabilities Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to provide strong, effective leadership to a dedicated team of social workers and practitioners, ensuring that children and young people with disabilities receive high-quality, personalised support that enables them to thrive.

About the role

As Team Manager, you will provide professional leadership, management and supervision to the team, ensuring that practice is child-centred, strengths-based and focused on achieving positive outcomes.

You will:

• Lead, motivate and develop a committed team of social workers and practitioners.
• Ensure children and young people with disabilities are at the heart of decision-making and planning.
• Promote high standards of social work practice and effective partnership working.
• Provide reflective supervision, support professional development and promote a strong learning culture.
• Ensure assessments, care planning, safeguarding and reviews are completed to a high standard and within statutory timescales.
• Work collaboratively with families, schools, health professionals, education colleagues and other partner agencies.

About you

You will have:

• A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
• Significant post-qualifying experience within children''s social care.
• Experience of working with children and young people with disabilities and their families.
• Proven experience of supervising, developing and managing social work staff.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, legislation, statutory guidance and children''s social care practice.
• 3 years perm experience.
