Are you an experienced Team Leader or Supervisor looking to step into a fast-paced production environment? We''re working with a well-established manufacturer seeking a hands-on and proactive Team Leader to support operations at their site in Rochester.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the floor, driving performance, and motivating a team. You''ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of production lines, ensuring high standards are maintained across safety, quality, and output.
What you''ll be doing:
- Leading and supporting a team of operatives on shift
- Overseeing line performance and stepping in where needed
- Managing stock control, start-up checks, and key admin tasks
- Maintaining compliance with health and safety procedures
- Working closely with other departments to ensure smooth production flow
- Supporting rota planning, holiday cover, and agency staff bookings
- Delivering training and supporting new starters
- Promoting continuous improvement across quality, performance, and waste reduction
What we''re looking for:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role within a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Awareness of CCP and quality/safety issues
- Sound knowledge of production processes, relevant standards (e.g., BRC, HACCP), and health & safety regulations
- A proactive mindset and the ability to lead from the front
- Confident using Microsoft Office - experience with AXAPTA or similar systems is a bonus
Nice to have:
- Health and Safety certification
- Experience with production control systems such as SCADA
