Team Leader [Signalling Maintenance] - 4 positions available

About the role
Dynamic and diverse role that combines both electrical and mechanical engineering skills. Tasks range from using electronic testing equipment to measuring critical electrical parameters, to working with mechanical systems that guide trains. Maintaining the rail network is a key part of the work. As a railway Team Leader, you\''ll work outdoors as part of a close-knit team, carrying out essential maintenance on the tracks to ensure trains run safely and reliably for both passengers and freight. You\''ll establish safety arrangements and check the quality of work, directing and inspiring a team involved in inspection and faulting, maintenance and renewal.Please Note: there may be a requirement to work on call in this role if you opt to take the Standard Maintenance Contract.This advert will open for a number of months and applications will be reviewed weekly; suitable candidates will be invited to attend an assessment centre prior to the closing date.Role overview
Team Leader — you\''ll direct, organise and motivate a high performing team, liaise with management teams and other departments/companies. From inspection and faulting through to maintenance and renewal, you\''ll play a hands-on role, ensuring work is done efficiently and to relevant standards and controls. You\''ll establish the relevant safety arrangements for tasks and ensure Network Rail staff and contractors follow safe systems of work. You will proactively control and check the quality of work and the competence of your people, ensuring assets are compliant with maintenance standards and that all vehicles, plant, tools, equipment and materials are safe and fit for purpose.Essential Criteria
Able to work as part of a team, and able to lead, motivate and direct a teamKnowledge and experience of signalling inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal techniquesHold and retain competencies relevant to this post, required by business needAble and willing to drive vehicles as required by business needHave interest or experience in Electrical EngineeringBe willing to work outdoors in all weather types at any time of the dayExperience of organising and controlling the safe and efficient delivery of workDesire to always improve oneself and make things betterCommute times — within a 60-minute commute of the location applied forDesirable Criteria
Already hold a valid PTSPrevious experience in SandT installation or working with SandT equipmentHold qualifications of either Mechanical or Electrical engineering from further education or from previous employment, or be able to demonstrate these principlesAbout Network Rail

Roles available in Liverpool, Edge Hill and Chester Depots. This is a safety critical role subject to drug and alcohol testing and passing of the relevant medical assessment. The role involves days, nights and weekend working.Salary and benefits
