Teaching Associate in Biosciences

Overview
The School of Biological Sciences is seeking to appoint an outstanding Teaching Associate for a period of 12 months to provide support for Biosciences Teaching activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of tutorials to undergraduate students in years 1-3 and any marking associated with this activity. In addition, the post will involve the supervision of practical classes to year 1 and year 2 students. Practical classes will be delivered with the support and guidance of an established member of staff and the unit-co-ordinator. These sessions will also be supported by postgraduate demonstrators. It is envisaged that the post holder will provide support for marking student work as and when required.
Responsibilities
Delivery of tutorials to undergraduate students in years 1-3 and marking as required.
Supervision of practical classes for year 1 and year 2 students, delivered with support from staff, the unit-coordinator, and postgraduate demonstrators.
Support for marking student work as required.
Qualifications
Relevant PhD in a Biomedical Sciences related subject area.
Evidence of clear interest in and experience of teaching, with skills and commitment to developing the quality of the student experience.
