A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen at a Secondary Specialist School for an experienced, secondary SEN Teaching Assistant in Halifax. Although the student is preparing to enter year 7, he is working at emerging y1 levels which and is recently having a difficult transition from Primary into Secondary. Therefore this job may also suit someone with a primary SEN background who would be happy to work in a secondary setting as a 1:1 assistant. There are specific medical needs associated with medical administration for epilepsy, personal care is  sometimes  required and the young person has a diagnosis for autism, with specific focus on Speech and Language, communication (we use PECS and partial BSL mainly) and sometimes escalatory behaviours that require physical intervention. There is both an ILDP and EHCP.
