Teaching Assistant - Year 5 (1:1 Support for Pupil with Autism)

Are you an aspiring Speech and Language Therapist? Do you want to gain valuable, hands-on experience supporting children with additional needs?

A warm and inclusive primary school in the heart of Camden is seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a pupil in Year 5. The pupil has autism and limited verbal language and uses communication boards to aid expression and understanding.

About the Role:

Support a bright, engaging pupil with specific communication needs

Work closely with the SENCo, class teacher, and external therapists

Use communication aids and visual supports to promote learning and language

Contribute to a positive, structured and nurturing classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate:

Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist or someone passionate about SEN

Patient, organised and professional

Confident using (or willing to learn) communication boards and visual strategies

Reliable and able to commit to the full academic year (at minimum)
