2 x Teaching Assistant Positions Available
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:15am-1:00pm
We are currently seeking two dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join a supportive Specialist SEN School in Grimsby.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with Autism and Learning Disabilities, helping them to feel safe, valued, confident, and successful within the classroom.
You will work as part of a highly experienced and supportive team, working within whole-class settings alongside the class teacher and other highly qualified and experienced Teaching Assistants.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with Autism and Learning Disabilities within a whole-class environment
- Work closely with the class teacher and experienced support staff to deliver engaging learning activities
- Encourage pupils to participate in learning and develop greater independence
- Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
- Promote positive behaviour and help create a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Provide additional support where required, including personal care
- Follow individual support plans and school policies to ensure pupils receive the appropriate level of care and support
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Patient, calm, caring, and empathetic
- Passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs
- Able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- A strong communicator who works well as part of a team
- Reliable, enthusiastic, and committed to making a positive difference
- Experienced in working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential)
- Committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and providing high-quality support
Full training and ongoing support will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to develop their experience within specialist education.
