Early Years Teaching Assistant Are you passionate about the Early Years and helping children take their first big steps in education? A vibrant and friendly 2 form entry primary school in Wigan is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join one of their reception classes. This is a rewarding opportunity to support a bubbly cohort of early learners during a crucial stage of their development. The Role Working within a busy Reception class, you will support the Class Teacher in delivering a play-based curriculum that focuses on the Prime and Specific areas of the EYFS. Your goal will be to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child feels confident to explore. Key Responsibilities: EYFS Support: Assist with the delivery of phonics (knowledge of Little Wandle or Read Write Inc is a plus), early literacy, and numeracy. Continuous Provision: Support indoor and outdoor learning through play-based activities. Observations: Help track pupil progress using digital platforms (such as Tapestry) or learning journals. Inclusion: Work 1:1 or in small groups with children who may need extra support with speech, language, or social skills. What We''re Looking For- Experience: Previous experience working within an EYFS or Nursery setting.
