About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant in Birmingham, you will provide 1-2-1 and whole class support at this SEND school in North Birmingham. The role involves working with secondary aged children who have moderate and complex learning needs, in classes of no more than eight students. You will collaborate with a friendly team of SEND Teachers and Teaching Assistants, tailoring support to each child’s individual requirements. Creativity is encouraged, helping pupils develop a love for learning. This full-time position offers a daily salary of £90 to £110. Previous experience supporting students with special educational needs is essential, ideally within a similar setting.

Teaching Assistant – SEND School
Level 3 Teaching Assistant required to provide 1-2-1 and whole class support at this excellent SEND School in North Birmingham. This school supports secondary aged children with moderate and complex learning needs, providing them with an outstanding education. As a Teaching Assistant you will be working closely with a friendly team of Teaching Assistants and SEND Teachers who love to make a difference.
With small classes of no more than 8 students, you will be given the opportunity to tailor the support to the needs of individual students. Creativity is encouraged and you will be tasked with helping children to discover a love for learning. Previous experience supporting students with special educational needs is required for this role, ideally experience working with Autism, Asperger’s , or Complex Needs. This role requires a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

Requirements:
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or experience as a TA or LSA
  • Passionate about making a difference at an award-winning alternative provision.
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs.
  • A valid DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Understanding of the Teaching Assistant/Classroom Assistant role.
