SEND Teaching Assistant - Birmingham – ASAP Start
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new opportunity? Do you enjoy helping children discover a love for learning, and get the most out of lessons? This welcoming special school is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join its established team and provide 1-2-1 and small group support in a Key Stage 3 class.
As a Teaching Assistant at this school, you will be supporting children with a range of needs including Autism, MLD, Down’s Syndrome, and communication impairments. You will be joining a team of caring and dedicated Teaching Assistants and Teachers who go above and beyond to provide a nurturing and supportive environment for students. This role requires a Teaching Assistant who has previous experience supporting children with special educational needs, a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
Job Role:
- Providing tailored 1-2-1 and small group support for students.
- Supporting the class teacher in delivering activities.
- Ensuring needs of students are met, following EHCPs.
- Working alongside a team of Teaching Assistants and Mentors.
- Acting as a positive role model for students.
- Encouraging engagement in lessons and providing academic support.
- Logging and reporting any concerns to the appropriate person.
