About the Role

This Teaching Assistant role in Birmingham involves supporting a Key Stage 4 pupil with Autism at a dedicated SEND school. Working full-time, you will provide one-to-one assistance to help the child engage with lessons and participate in classroom activities. Joining a supportive team of Teaching Assistants, your focus is on ensuring pupils receive a quality education. Experience with Autism is essential, and previous SEND experience is preferred. The daily salary ranges from £100 to £110. You will also contribute to whole class activities as part of this friendly school.

Teachining Assistant   - Birmingham - SEND School 
Teaching Assistant required to support a Key Stage 4 child with a primary diagnosis of Autism. This welcoming SEND school is looking to add a supportive and caring Teaching Assistant to the team to work with this child in the classroom and help them to engage with lessons. You will be joining an experienced team of Teaching Assistants who are focused on providing children with everything that they need to have a wonderful education.
As a Teaching Assistant you will primarily be working on a 1-2-1 basis with this child, however, will also be involved in whole class activities. Staff are friendly and you will feel like part of the team from day one. Experience working with Autism is essential and ideally you will have previous experience in a special school. This role requires a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and previous experience as a Teaching Assistant.

Requirements:
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or experience as a TA or LSA
  • Passionate about making a difference at an award-winning alternative provision.
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs.
  • A valid DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Understanding of the Teaching Assistant/Classroom Assistant role.
