Are you a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Autism? This welcoming SEND school in East Birmingham is seeking a compassionate 1-2-1 Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 3 student with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated learning needs.

Working alongside an experienced class teacher, skilled Teaching Assistants and specialist professionals, you will play a vital role in creating a calm, structured and engaging learning environment where the student can thrive.

The Role:

  • Providing dedicated 1-2-1 support for a Key Stage 3 student with ASC and associated learning needs
  • Supporting the student to engage in lessons and access the curriculum
  • Implementing personalised strategies to support communication, emotional regulation and independence
  • Working closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored learning activities
  • Promoting positive behaviour and helping the student develop social skills
  • Supporting the student's academic, emotional and personal development
  • Contributing to EHCP targets and monitoring progress
  • Building positive relationships with parents, carers and external professionals
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly Autism
  • A patient, calm and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to adapt to the individual needs of the student
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Support Worker (desirable)
